US Cotton Export Weekly Report: Contract Volume Increases Greatly And China Re Purchases
According to the USDA report, from November 13 to 19, 2020, the net amount of Upland Cotton in the United States will be 80400 tons in 2020 / 21, a significant increase over the previous week and an increase of 84% over the average value of the previous four weeks. The main buyers were Vietnam (38400 tons), Bangladesh (20300 tons), Turkey (6509 tons), China (6350 tons) and Pakistan (2381 tons). The contracts were cancelled in Hong Kong, China (204 tons) and Costa Rica (91 tons).
The net contracted volume of Upland Cotton in the United States in 2021 / 22 is 8732 tons, and the buyers are China (8392 tons), Mexico (249 tons) and Costa Rica (91 tons).
In that week, the U.S. freight volume of Upland Cotton in 2020 / 21 was 41500 tons, 34% less than the previous week and 32% lower than the average value of the previous four weeks. Destinations include China (20300 tons), Vietnam (1111 tons), Pakistan (4468 tons), Mexico (3787 tons) and Bangladesh (1905 tons).
In 2020 / 21, the net contracted volume of Pima cotton in the United States was 6101 tons, a significant increase over the previous week and an increase of 45% over the average value of the previous four weeks. The main buyers were China (2359 tons), Vietnam (1111 tons), India (1021 tons), Peru (658 tons) and Hong Kong (590 tons). Bangladesh (228 tons) and Switzerland (91 tons) cancelled the contract.
In the same week, the U.S. export shipment volume of Pima cotton in 2020 / 21 was 4921 tons, 14% higher than the previous week and 11% higher than the average value of the previous four weeks, mainly to India (1519 tons), Bangladesh (1134 tons), China (975 tons), Vietnam (431 tons) and Pakistan (431 tons).
